Ben and Rena volunteered their time to program and fit the hearing aids for the recipients. It was an extremely moving and humbling experience to see the faces of the person receiving the aids and the family members’ faces as they watched their loved one hear again. What could be more fitting than to give the gift of hearing music on the eve of the Country Music Awards?
Several country music stars were guests of Starkey at the mission including Lee Ann Womack, Sarah Darling, and T. G. Sheppard. Other VIP guest was NFL Hall of Fame members Joe De Lamielleure and Raymond Berry and former Miss America Heather Whitestone-McCallum.
A father and son watched in anticipation as they saw their wife and mother hear for the first time in 27 years. Her tears of joy and happiness were felt by all throughout the room. Ben and Rena felt blessed and honored to be a part of giving the gift of hearing to so many deserving children and adults.
